about

We've decided to release our new album one track at a time over the course of 2013. Comanchero's 4th studio album celebrates the band's tenth anniversary with twelve brand new studio tracks. We're telling the story as we go. It will all make sense in the end.

Our first single, "The Word", a psychadelic screamer with hints of 1975 and muse from Pink Floyd and Aerosmith mixed with a healthy dose of divine contemplation.

Second comes "Lucky" on the eve of the band's first tour to Ireland and the UK. A ballad at heart, imagine Greg Moon singing like Billy Joel in the Blue Ridge Mountains backed by a mashup of My Morning Jacket and The Avett Brothers.

about

Since 2003, Comanchero has crafted an Americana sound that combines old traditions with new, Country with Rock, Bluegrass with Blues, Honky Tonk with Funk, and Roots with Rockabilly. While unique in their own sound, there is something strikingly familiar in Comanchero’s songs that weave influences like Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers, Little Feat, CAKE, Wilco, and Mumford & Sons. ... more

Track Name: Lucky
How did it feel when your Mother took your toys away from you?
How did it feel the first time you got lost in the store?
How did you know your Mother would cry at the table?
The old man was sore that your brother neglected his chores.

Don’t you feel lucky?
Though you know you ain’t got that much time,
Don’t you feel lucky, all the time?

I wasn’t scared the first time that I saw a horror film.
My mother said, ”Sonny, you won’t get much sleep tonight.”
And I wasn’t scared the first time I took off those training wheels.
Don’t speak a word what you saw. Keep your lip buttoned up tight.

Don’t you feel lucky?
Though you know you ain’t got that much time,
Don’t you feel lucky, all the time?

When you try to finish the song
And the words just come out all wrong.
I pound away all night.
But it just ain't sounding right.
Crawl into bed, turn out the light.

I lived on Longfellow road and it was a fairy tale.
The summertime seemed like it lasted a year and a day.
And the girls on my block must have blossomed before I had noticed them.
But ain’t you surprised when you find that they’re looking your way?

Don’t you feel lucky?
Though you know you ain’t got that much time,
Don’t you feel lucky, all the time?
Track Name: The Word
Chorus:
You don’t believe that I’m the word
And still you pound away
And so your cries they go unheard
Until your dying day

In the beginning no one could see
So I said, "let there be light.
Don’t fear the snake in my apple tree
Give in to your curiosity girl have yourself a big bite"

Chorus

As it was written so shall it be,
People believe what they want to believe.
It might be wise to remember to breathe
When you’re in the presence of greatness it’s time to fall to your knees.

Chorus

I am the body, I am the blood,
You choose to love or to hate.
I am the shelter before the flood,
When you gonna realize that you being here is not a mistake
